Sailing Night aboard the Baysail Yacht,
Ironbark
The 10th September saw the cubs embark on their first yacht trip on the Richmond River, the weather leading up to the day had been pretty awful with lots of rain and strong winds, however on the night we had fantastic weather. The crossing from the river into the ocean was not an option due to a rather heavy swell; however we happily travelled up and down the river with all of the cubs taking it in turns to be “Fully” in control of the yacht. Our Skipper Iain McCabe was amazing, and I have to take my hat off to him for his patience with the cubs.
I would like to thank Iain and Baysail for allowing us aboard Ironbark, and I so cant wait for the next trip !!!
If you have never been aboard a yacht before then I would highly recommend it,
You can find all of Baysail’s information at www.baysail.net.au orgive them a ring on 1300 857443 or 0266 266889 or email them on info@baysail.net.au

Captain Iain splits the cubs into 2 teams “Port” and “Starboard” and gives strict instructions and a safety talk.

Cast off, one of the Cubs casts off the moorings.

Here we go, Boys will be boys !!!

“Heave Ho” The cubs had no time for sitting around.

Josh haugh Steers us through the daylight into darkness.
